Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Urumqi (No meals)
Take your flight from home to Urumqi airport. Start your wonderful adventure to China from the most important part of ancient Silk Road. Be transferred to hotel and have a good rest in our well selective hotel.

Day 2: Urumqi - Fuyun (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Heaven Lake
With a 1.5-hour driving distance, you will visit Heavenly Lake and Tianshan Mountains for its alpine scenery and majestic Bogda Peak in the background. After the mountain tour, drive north to Fuyun County Town(7 hours).

Day 3: Fuyun to Burqin(Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Koktokay (Keketuohai) National Geopark
Today’s highlight is to explore Keketuohai National Geopark. You will tour a beautiful canyon with granitic mountains, colorful forests, and green Hu'erci River. In fact, this was used to be the biggest mining pit in China and the "Jerusalem" of geologists. Drive to Burqin town, gateway to Kanas, in the afternoon. En route, you will see the spectacular Rainbow Beach (Riverside) where stones were weathered into many vivid shapes like soaring hills, deep valley, criss-cross streets, tower, etc. Arrive at Burqin town and stay overnight.

Day 4: Burqin - Kanas(Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Kanas Lake and Tuvas Family Visit
A wonderful day! You will head for Kanas Lake in the morning. You will be driven along the mountain road to visit the amazing Kanas Nature Reserve. It is one of the best places in Xinjiang where you can not only enjoy the magnificent mountains and lakes, but also visit the snow-capped icebergs. View the beautiful lake from Fish Pavilion. And then skip off the shuttle bus, take an 8-km (5-mile) hike to enjoy the three beautiful bays of Kanas River. Later you will have plenty of time to trek around the well-known Three Bays (Moon Bay, Dragon Bay, Immortal Bay) and enjoy the most beautiful mountain lake.

Day 5: Kanas - Hemu(Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Hemu Village
Head south-east from Kanas to Hemu Village which is known as the first village in China.Visit a small Tuvas museum in a wooden house. It is an exquisite and unique wooden house village with a small bridge and magnificent scenery. At the same time, you can also experience the unique lifestyle of Tuvas people.

Day 6 Hemu -Burqin (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Five-Colored Beach
Get up early to climb up wooden steps to reach the grassland on the hill to enjoy the gorgeous sunrise. Everything in the village is really outstanding. Then drive from Hemu to Burqin. Stop at Five-Colored Beach. Enjoy the different landscapes on the banks of the Hu'erci River. One side has rich vegetation and the other is desert with Yardang landforms. Enjoy your free time in Burqin town at night which is full of Russian flavor.

Day 7 Burqin to Karamay (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Ghost City
Drive from Burqin to Karamay. Visit the "Ghost City" on the way, which is one of the famous yardang landform in China, caused by strong howling wind and erosion. The various strange shapes formed by the wind erosion make you connect them with pagodas, temples, animals, etc. The oil field pumpjacks along the way to Karamay will tell you that mother nature has given this land riches below the desolation and loneliness.

Day 8: Karamay to Urumqi and Departure from Urumqi (Breakfast)
Go back to Urumqi to catch your flight home or next city from Karamay.
