Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1: Guiyang ( No Meals)

  Highlight:Qianling Park, Jiaxiu Pavilion.

  Take your flight from home to Guiyang airport. Start your wonderful adventure to Guizhou from the most important capital. Be transferred to hotel and have a good rest in our well selective hotel. We recommend you a half-day city tour to Guiyang if you arrive at Guiyang in the morning. The half-day city tour will take you to Qianling Park and Jiaxiu Pavilion to experience the natural and history of Guiyang city at the same time.

• Day 2: Guiyang- Kaili(Breakfast/Lunch)

  Highlight:Shiqiao Village, Qingman Short-skirt Miao Village, Kaili Folk Museum.

  Drive to Kaili, the hometown of Miao and Dong Minority by car(3.5-4 hours). Stop at Shiqiao Village in Danzhai County where you will see how the paper is made in traditional way. Then you will visit Qingman Short-skirt Miao Village. All guests will be stopped by Miao females at the entrance of the village. They sing ethnic songs and toast welcome wines. Have your lunch here to get close to local people and ethnic culture. After lunch, move forward to Kaili. Go to Kaili Folk Museum to have an overall of Kaili’s history and culture. Stay overnight at Kaili.

• Day 3: Kaili-Congjiang(Breakfast/Lunch)

  Highlight:Jidao Long-skirt Miao Village, Leigong Mountain.

  Today you will go to Congjiang by car(5.5 hours). In the morning, transferred to Jidao Long-skirt Miao Village. The Miao are a big minority group with a complex set of sub-groups and quite different cultures. Besides the Short-skirt Miao yesterday, we will see the Long-skirt Miao today. One important feature of Miao is that the black clothes with many kinds of silver ornament, such as silver headwear, silver necklaces and silver bracelets. The more silver ornament she wears, the richer she is. It is the symbols of wealth and status as an amulets to ward off evil spirits. Observe a respected silversmith and learn how a dazzling ornament with complex patterns comes into being, step by step. Then have some fun taking part in the process. After lunch, continue our drive via Leigong Mountain to appreciate its mountainous landscape.

• Day 4: Congjiang - Zhaoxing(Breakfast/Lunch)

  Highlight:Basha Miao Village.

  Today’s highlights is a visit to Basha Miao Village(1.5 hours),China's Last Tribe of Gunmen. Basha Miao Village is quite different from other Miao Village because of men’s hair dresses and women’s shinning fabric costume from egg-white. Apart from those who work in certain specific jobs, citizens in China are not allowed to carry guns. But men in Basha Miao Village still carry a gun, gunpowder bag, bullet bag, and a knife. The traditional customs of the warrior Miao have been officially acknowledged and respected. In the afternoon, explore Zhaoxing - the largest Dong people’s village in China with more than 800 households and a population of 5000. It owns five drum towers symbolizing five different clans.

• Day 5: Zhaoxing(Breakfast/Lunch)

  Highlight:Zhaoxing Dong Village, Zhaoxing Dong Culture Museum.

  Today you’ll explore the largest Dong village in Guizhou - Zhaoxing Dong Village. Famous as “one of the six most beautiful countryside in China, Zhaoxing Village’s drum towers were listed into the Guinness World Records in 2001. There are five drum towers, five Wind and Rain Bridges and five stages setting in 5 small villages here. Afterwards, pay a visit to the Zhaoxing Dong Culture Museum to have a better understanding about Dong people and its culture in all aspects.

• Day 6: Departure from Zhaoxing (Breakfast)

  Be transferred to Zhaoxing railway station to take a train to your next destination. Your Guizhou tour will end soon but your memory of Guizhou will last for days.
