Day 1: Arrive at Beijing (No meals)
Take your flight from home to Beijing airport. Start your wonderful adventure to China from the capital city. Be transferred to hotel and have a good rest in our well selective hotel.

Day 2: Beijing (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven.
Today our professional guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel and begin your amazing Beijing city tour.Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City are next to each other in the central axis of Beijing. You will feel a new dignified and old amazing China at the same time. Moreover, Temple of Heaven will display you how ancient royal families present their loyalty to Chinese deities. You will have a lunch in a local restaurant nearby.

Day 3: Beijing (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Great Wall and Summer Palace

Walk along on the Great Wall and have a good view of nature. Have a lunch in a local restaurant. Go back to Beijing city to visit the Summer Palace for Chinese Emperors.

Day 4: Beijing- Datong by train (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Hutong
Walk in Hutong, the original apartment for Chinese people to live, and have a real touch to Beijing local cities by yourself. Be transferred to Beijing railway station and take a bullet train(2 hours) to Datong in the afternoon. Be met by your guide at the Datong railway station to explore another famous cultural city of China.

Day 5: Datong (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple and Yingxian Wooden Pagoda
One day Datong cultural tour begins from Yungang Grottoes which is a masterpiece of Buddhist grotto art and one of the four great grottoes of ancient China. There are thousands of Buddha statues carved out of the mountain. Then visit Huayan Temple, another ancient Buddist shrine, that are beautiful murals and Buddhist cultural relics. Hanging Temple is the only temple in China that combines Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Built on a cliff, the Hanging Temple is listed as one of the World Top Ten odd and dangerous buildings. Finally, you will see Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, is the oldest and tallest surviving wooden structure in China.

Day 6 Datong - Mt.Wutai by car (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Buddist Temple Complex of Mt.Wutai
Be transferred to Mt.Wutai by car (3.5 hours). Mt. Wutai is a Buddhist sanctuary that features magnificent mountain views. In the afternoon you will visit the most iconic Buddhist temples of Mt. Wutai - Tayuan Temple, Shuxiang Temple, Xiantong Temple, Pusa Ding Temple which are all convenient located in Taihuai Town. Stay overnight at Mt.Wutai.

Day 7: Mt.Wutai - Taiyuan (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Five Terraces of Mt.Wutai
Today, you are going to worship the Five Terraces where the five incarnations of Manjusri Bodhisattva (Intelligence, Immaculateness, Innocence, Lion Roar, and Wisdom) meditate. Besides the religious aspect, the beauty of rising and falling ridges of mountains, exotic rocks, crystalline waters and towering green forests also gives the mountain its reputation as a colorful and notable scenic resort. Be transferred to Taiyuan(2 hours) to have a rest for the culture sites next day.

Day 8: Taiyuan - Pingyao by train (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Jinci Temple
Drive to Pingyao in the morning. Visit Jinci Temple in Taiyuan en route. It is one of the earliest royal ancestral temple gardens in China, with dozens of traditional Chinese architectures mainly constructed from the 7th Century to the 19th Century and a wealth of inscriptions, sculptures and other ancient Chinese artistic relics. Arrive at Pingyao Ancient Town and immerse yourself in history and the rich cultural atmosphere of Ji Merchants. You will visit Rishengchang Former Bank, Armed Escort Company Museum and the Ancient City Wall. Rishengchang Former Bank is the site of the first draft bank in China. At last, you will go up to the Ancient City Wall at dusk, and have a glimpse of the town before darkness arrives.

Day 9: Pingyao (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Shuanglin Temple and Wang's Family Compound
Today we will start a tour from Shuanglin Temple, 10 minutes driving distance from Pingyao Ancient Town. It has over 2,000 colored mud sculptures, and considered to be the "unrestored glory" of Pingyao. Then you will drive in a southerly direction for one hour to the Wang Family Courtyard. Wang's Family Compound has a nickname — the Forbidden City in Folk. Different from the famous Qiao's Family Compound, the Wang family was an official family, which had a higher social status.

Day10: Pingyao-Xian by train (Breakfast/Lunch)
Highlight: Transfer to Xi'an
Your wonderful Shanxi culture staying will end and continue your visiting to Xi'an , another famous ancient capital city of China. Take a bullet train from Pingyao to Xi'an (3 hours). Be met by your guide at the Xi'an railway station to explore this city.

Day11: Xi'an (Breakfast/Lunch)

Drive back to Xi'an to see Bell Tower, the biggest one remains in China now. Gao’s Courtyard is a good choice for you to see Chinese paper cutting and shadow puppetry. Moreover you will have a chance to taste delicious China northern snacks in Muslim Quarter.

You will learn all respect of this ancient city. Then be transferred to Xi'an airport to take a flight to Shanghai. Be met by your guide at the Shanghai airport and transferred to hotel.
