Why Travel to Chengdu ?
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province and the home to adorable Giant Pandas and spicy food. Compared with big tourism cities, like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu is much more relaxed with many natural, cultural, and historical sights in and around it. Chengdu has over 2,000 years of history, as showcased through a fascinating collection of artefact in the city's many museums.
Chengdu, Sweet home of the Giant Panda
In China, Chengdu is the most recommended destination to see the cute Giant Pandas closely and personally because there are nearly 200 Giant Pandas inhabiting Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (Chengdu Panda Base). All giants pandas in other cities or countries come from Chengdu. Those lovely creatures in different age are living in different enclosures, munching on bamboo, climbing trees, sleeping and playing with each other, and even the mini new-born panda babies, etc. You can not only see giant pandas and panda cubs; you can also take care of them as a panda keeper.
Chengdu, a Laid-back City
The capital of Sichuan province Chengdu is famously leisurely - a favourite pastime of its residents is to while away a day inside a teahouse, playing cards or mahjong, eating snacks or simply snoozing under the mid-afternoon sun. You could be just like a local people to drink tea in a teahouse and go to the parks to get away from the hustle of city life.
Chengdu, a Paradise of Foodies
As one of the first UNESCO cities of gastronomy, Chengdu is also a foodie's paradise. Hotpot, Fish fragrant pork, Ma Po Tofu all are what you have tasted in China town of your country. Now it is time for you to go inside a real Sichuan restaurant in Chengu. The Mala (hot and numbing) flavour that's synonymous with Sichuan cuisine is ubiquitous. Even you are halal or vegetarian, you will find options widely available here.
Chengdu, a Historical and Cultural City
The centuries-old history, unique local culture and pleasant geography have earned many great reputations for Chengdu, such as"Great Historical & Cultural City of China", "Best Tourist City in China", etc. During its around 3,200 years’ history, many great historical sites were created by the diligent and creative ancestors. Sanxingdui Museum, Wuhou Monastery, Jinsha Ruin Museum are among top of those attractions.
For Buddhism visitors, the Leshan Giant Buddha and Emer Mt. is a must-see if travelling to Chengdu. Leshan Giant Buddha is the world's largest sculpture of Buddha carved out of a mountain.
